International and Australian experts in food processing and cold storage technologies will address the Food Solutions Expo 2006 conference at Food Science Australia's facilities in Melbourne on 16 November.

The Expo aims to provide practical answers to the technological, machinery, packaging, cold-chain, innovation and labelling problems faced by food processing companies.

In his keynote address, Professor Charles Daly from the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences at University College Cork, Ireland, will cover how the Victorian food processing industry can better respond to the constantly changing demands of the global economy.

Derrick Drohan of Munters USA, a global company specialising in the provision of dehumidification equipment, will cover the latest technological advances designed to prevent two major spoilers of cold-store foods: condensation and frost.

The conference's international speaker list will be supported by a number leading Australian experts including the group manager of Coles Myer Ltd's Quality Centre of Excellence, Jackie Healing. Healing will address brand awareness issues.
