Procurement and packaging design: AIP technical dinner
Speakers from Supply Stratagems and Echo Design will be the highlight of the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) NSW Branch’s technical dinner. The dinner will be held on Wednesday 13 November at the Oatlands Golf Course.
Robert Shouldice, Founder and Director of Supply Stratagems, will present a paper entitled ‘Procurement: what is its role in creating value?’
Procurement as a profession has come a long way from the days of being a quiet back-office function otherwise known as purchasing. Shouldice will explore the difference between purchasing and procurement.
Today’s Procurement professionals call themselves the “fastest-growing profession”, Shouldice says. His presentation aims to debunk some myths and answer questions. Attendees will learn how procurements interacts within and outside an organisation, understand the consequences of good and bad procurement, appreciate its motivators and KPIs and see the value it can bring to the table.
Mark McNamara, Echo Design’s Business Director, will speak about packaging design and the impact of restrictions on the creative process - do these limitations help or hinder packaging design?
All members of the industry can attend the event. Book online at www.aipack.com.au.
