Have your say on the Stakeholder Engagement Strategy

Monday, 18 June, 2012

Do you have a stake and interest in the Australia New Zealand Food Regulation System? The Australian Department of Health and Ageing is calling for feedback from stakeholders in the joint Food Regulation System as part of its Stakeholder Engagement Strategy.

The strategy aims to increase stakeholders’ understanding of the current processes within the joint system and to increase awareness of the ways in which stakeholders can meaningfully interact and engage with those in the system. However, the strategy does not represent an opportunity to change the system or amend legislative processes in place under the system.

Stakeholder comments will be used to refine the draft strategy and a summary of the submissions will be published on the Food Regulation Secretariat website after it has been considered by the Reference Group in August. The strategy will be presented to the Food Regulation Standing Committee (FRSC) for its consideration in October.

Stakeholders should email comments and queries related to the draft strategy to the Stakeholder Engagement Project officer by close of business on 26 July. The strategy is available on the Food Regulation Secretariat website.
