Fonterra to shed 300 admin jobs
Fonterra has announced it will shed 300 administrative jobs as part of its Support Services review. The review is expected to be completed by October, once employees have worked out their respective notice periods.
According the Fonterra CEO Theo Spierings, the review has “identified opportunities to reduce duplication and layers of management within the corporate office”.
“We are investing in growth and it is important to ensure our people are working on the right things and that we are spending our capital on the right priorities. We are confident the review has achieved this,” Spierings said.
The company has also announced a number of management appointments. Lukas Paravicini has been named as chief financial officer and Jacqueline Chow has been announced as managing director global brands and nutrition.
Paravicini is taking over the CFO role from Jonathan Mason, who retires in September.
The MD global brands & nutrition is a new role within Fonterra’s management team. Chow will oversee Fonterra’s overall marketing, innovation and research activities.
