Call for submissions on Food Standards Code revision
Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is calling for submissions on a revision of the Food Standards Code.
According to FSANZ CEO Steve McCutcheon, the Food Standards Code has been revised to better meet the needs of stakeholders in industry, commerce and enforcement.
“The revision is intended to change the presentation of the Code, but not any requirements or obligations that food businesses have,” McCutcheon said.
“The Code would be changed to a single unified instrument - to help improve navigation of the Code.
“Changes have also been made to align with definitions already present in the food Acts of Australian states and territories and New Zealand.
“FSANZ welcomes comments from all stakeholders regarding the proposed changes.”
The closing date for submissions on the Code Revision Proposal is 15 August 2013. Click here to view to the Code Revision Proposal.
