Bonfiglioli opens regional facility in Victoria

Bonfiglioli Australia has opened a regional office in Cranbourne West, Victoria. The opening event saw its key customers, local staff and company leaders from Bonfiglioli’s head office in Italy all in attendance.

The premises is fitted with 40 kW of solar power and covers 1800 m2, of which warehousing and production makes up 1400 m2.

The premises will allow for the local assembly of light- and medium-duty products, leaving the Sydney facility to concentrate only on heavy-duty products. According to Martin Broglia, Managing Director for Bonfiglioli Australia, this will allow the company to expand its local stock holding and better serve customers in local regions.

Following significant growth over the COVID-19 pandemic, this move came mostly from the need for the company to continue decentralising its assembly facilities.

“We continue our upward trajectory and are hyper-focused on offering local assembly and support around the country,” Broglia said.

The facility will produce:

  • Bonfiglioli’s helical and bevel-helical series of CAFS motors (up to size 60).
  • The full range of VF/W universal wormgears.
  • Bonfiglioli’s 300 planetary gearbox series (up to size 310).

“There are further plans to expand our capabilities and to enable the production of larger motors. The expansion of an aftersales and repair facility is also in the pipeline, as well as a pilot assembly plant for the recently launched CP helical inline gearbox series,” Broglia said.

He said the company is anticipating growth as customers seek power transmission solutions. He predicts that the growth of the renewable energy industry is set to be a significant driver of expansion.
