CAPS is ramping up its specialised assistance and reporting service for companies required to meet federal government energy consumption and emissions savings targets in the food and beverages sector.
Quentin St Baker has recently joined Compressed Air and Power Solutions Australia (CAPS) as its efficiency expert and said compressed air was often perceived as a ‘free’ energy source and, as a result, efficiencies in compressed air systems had been given little attention.
St Baker said a changing regulatory environment presented new challenges and opportunities for energy-dependent companies as participation in EEO is mandatory for certain corporations and significant fines over $100,000 may apply for non-compliance.
The federal government’s Energy Efficiency Opportunity (EEO) regulations compel operations to identify, evaluate and report publicly on implementation of cost-effective energy-saving opportunities.
CAPS’ sound understanding of the Australian environment, marketplace and regulatory frameworks means it is well positioned to assist businesses with their reporting needs and may also be able to assist companies obtain government funding support.
