15% reduction in energy use at major Australian dairy plant
Friday, 08 January, 2010
Process control, instrumentation and electrical engineering solutions provider MIPAC has successfully conducted a pilot at a major Australian Dairy plant that is claimed will lead to a significant reduction in carbon emissions.
“Early results have already shown that by implementing MIPAC Process Advantage plants will see a 15% reduction in energy use and a return on investment within a year,” said Peter Thompson, Food & Beverage Industry Manager, MIPAC.
Increased energy costs, along with government emissions reporting schemes, are already compelling major industrial manufacturers to seek operational efficiency improvements. Compounding this, it is likely that some form of emissions trading scheme will be introduced in the next two years.
And so, it has become paramount for organisations to act to reduce energy use and therefore reduce emissions and operating costs. Without a reduction in carbon emissions, plants are set for job losses, lower production levels, loss of competitive advantage and ultimately a loss in profit.
MIPAC Process Advantage applies process knowledge and appropriate automatic techniques to stabilise and optimise industrial processes. The company combines its own experience with its client’s process knowledge to collaboratively reduce variability and inefficiency - while improving consistency and increasing yield.
