Promotions packaging solutions

Result, a company that has traditionally specialised in providing ‘on-pack’ format promotions with major consumer goods manufacturers, recently made a worldwide evaluation of manufacturers of packaging technology and equipment.

As a result, the company is now supplying a range of equipment to complement its promotional service and provide a complete promotions packaging solution. The range includes coding and marking equipment, label applicators, feeders and packaging equipment from its new partners, Rea Jet, Herma and Kora-Packmat.

Rea Jet is a complete systems provider of coding and marking equipment, including low- and high-resolution printers able to print in small- or large-character format. With over 400 inks standard to the range and new inks developed on request, any substrate can be coded. Using a common operating platform, operators are able to use one system to program the units. All machines are able to be networked, so control can be simplified and the ink systems are claimed to reduce service needs to the point of a cartridge-based system that uses less ink than conventional printers and requires virtually no regular servicing. Industries such as food/beverage, packaging, steel, timber and pharmaceutical are all covered with the Rea Jet range.

The Herma self-adhesive label applicator range includes simple benchtop label dispensers, semiautomatic labellers and the company’s 400 stand-alone unit which has the ability to apply at speeds up to 180 m/min. The unit is able to be configured in over 12,000 different ways including one system that can be integrated into an existing rotary applicator to convert it from wet gum to self adhesive without the need for a complete machine replacement. By using a common servo-driven motor throughout the range, the company has been able to build cost savings into its manufacturing processes.

Kora-Packmat feeders and packaging machines are suitable for a variety of applications, from inserting and gluing objects in automated process lines, through to wrapping systems used for greeting cards, CDs or the like. The feeder range is complete, with systems using a series of techniques such as friction, vacuum assisted and pick and place.
