Peakfresh produce bags are claimed to keep fruits and vegetables fresher and crisper for longer - lengthening shelf life and enhancing quality.
The bags are suitable for delivering to distant, interstate and international markets, or for supplying produce which historically over-ripens or spoils quickly.
The bags use a modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) film to extend the life of fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers. The packaging is impregnated with a natural mineral that allows it to ‘breathe’, allowing gases that accelerate ageing to escape and keeping produce fresher for longer.
The bag also minimises the formation of water droplets caused by breathing and exposure to varying temperatures during transport, ensuring the product doesn’t dehydrate and reducing bacteria growth.
PEAKfresh produce bags reduce spoilage caused by transit and minimise replacement costs for growers and retailers. This allows slower but more cost-effective methods of transport to be utilised, lowering costs and adding to a healthier bottom line for growers.
This also opens up potentially lucrative new markets, enabling growers to supply fresh, quality product to previously inaccessible locations.
