Flexible packaging to meet the meal kit demand

Home delivery meal kit companies are experiencing dramatic growth during the pandemic. New Jersey-based T.H.E.M. (Technical Help in Engineering & Marketing) has helped small-batch manufacturers in the gourmet food industry meet this demand with single-serve packaging that is suitable for the at-home cooking trend.

Nielsen data reveals that many meal kit companies have doubled their sales and customer subscriptions in recent months. As a provider of flexible, single-serve packaging, T.H.E.M. recognised the need to creatively packaging a variety of ingredients in each kit.

“These specialty businesses can get their products in front of a whole new customer segment, reaching far beyond their loyal ‘foodie’ base,” said T.H.E.M. CEO and President Neil Kozarsky.

The Jam Stand, a Brooklyn-based company that sells uniquely flavoured jams, condiments and spreads, has been purchasing single-serve flexible stick packs for its products from T.H.E.M. for many years. T.H.E.M. and The Jam Stand have continued working closely together, while the meal kit sector booms. Since entering the new market, The Jam Stand’s sales have increased, with the company on track to triple its business in 2020.

“Now is the ideal time for gourmet food companies to expand their customer base with single-serve packaging,” said Kozarsky.
