The Oystar A+F Twinline twin-axis robot has been developed for the Twinline pick-and-place machine.

Standard robot technology often cannot provide the flexibility required for modern end-of-line packaging systems. Typically, robots are only capable of handling either heavy loads at low cycle rates or limited loads at high cycle rates.

The mechanical solution designed by Oystar A+F involves two identical drive arms made of lightweight carbon fibre material and two servo drives for the gripper. The unit reduces pick-and-place motion times to less than 0.5 s and cycle times to less than 2 s, and has a maximum hourly output of 20,000 cups in two different formats.

Using mechanical or suction grippers to pick, stack or push items, the Twinline can place virtually any product in any position, allowing flexible cycle times. It can handle maximum loads of 63 kg. The Twinline can be tailored to a wide range of user specifications. It is equipped with an ELAU or Siemens Simotion control system and has a special user interface that enables it to be adapted almost automatically to on-site conditions.
