A&D Australasia has just released a range of super washdown scales to help food and pharmaceutical manufacturers keep up with the ever-increasing hygienic production requirements of government authorities and retail outlets around the world.
The SW scale series has an IP69K dust- and water-proof rating and they are suitably constructed for heavy-duty cleaning with high-pressure (~10,000 kPa) and high-temperature (~85°C) water.
The construction has been designed for easy washdown cleaning of food-processing residues. It can withstand damp environments for long periods of time without the effects of condensation. Both the weighing pan and the scales’ frames are made from SUS 304 stainless steel.
The load cell is also protected at the IP69K level and is made from SUS 630 stainless steel. In addition to these features it is possible to operate the scales with a sealed lead acid rechargeable battery without reducing the dust and waterproof rating of the scale.
Other key features of the scales include the rugged indicator bracket, which is adjustable to 0°, 30°, 60° and 90°. The capacitive keys prevent surface rupture when pressed during operation with sharp objects and thereby ensure the water-proof protection is not compromised.
The weigh pan is available in three sizes, small 250 mm × 250 mm, medium 300 mm × 380 mm and large 390 mm × 530 mm, making it suitable for use in a wide variety of manufacturing production areas.
To ensure full versatility of the scale range, the weight indicator may be desktop mounted, wall mounted or mounted on the pole stand.
