Frucor Suntory upgrades digital process platform

SAP SE has announced that Frucor Suntory, a beverage manufacturer in Australia and New Zealand, has implemented SAP’s Business Technology Platform (BTP).

Frucor Suntory manufactures, markets and distributes drinks including V Energy, Suntory, BOSS Coffee, Ribena, Lucozade and Maximus. It currently produces more than 30 million cases of drinks per year.

Until recently, its workforce was using a legacy on-premise system to manage its sales processes, with information scattered across multiple tabs and locations. The legacy system couldn’t scale to meet the growing complexity of the business.

Following a successful transition to SAP S/4HANA, Frucor Suntory worked with SAP AppHaus Network partner Bourne Digital, part of Accenture, to implement a new iOS-based field sales tool called ‘My Sales Hub’ (MySH) on SAP BTP. The MySH app combines four sales tools into one mobile application, standardising the sales process and helping to improve analytics, reporting and access to consumer insights.

Frucor Suntory has seen a 13% increase in staff productivity measured by sales call time saved since going live with the platform. Staff can also now receive sales suggestions for their customers, such as new products based on preference or alternatives if a product is out of stock, through access to an intuitive recommendation engine. This has helped grow customers’ basket size and supported a 3% increase in sales revenue.

Barbara Ciancio, Frucor Suntory Head of Digital IT Solutions, said the organisation has looked to simplify its digital processes and remove operational inefficiencies to better support customers. The platform developed with SAP has allowed sales staff to free up administration time and focus on more meaningful sales conversations, as well as allowed staff to access smart selling capabilities.
