Fonterra releases new Anchor cheese options
More brands are recognising the need to provide consumers with a broad range of options regardless of their health needs, so there’s never been a better time to have food intolerances or dietary requirements.
As well as Tasty, Colby and Edam, Fonterra’s Anchor cheese range includes two new options — Protein+ and Zero Lacto.
Zero Lacto prevents individuals with a lactose intolerance from making dietary sacrifices. It contains no lactose but still has the calcium and protein benefits of dairy.
“While most hard cheese is naturally low in lactose this is batch tested to ensure there is no lactose, providing a guaranteed lactose-free cheese option,” explained Fonterra Brands New Zealand Director of Marketing Clare Morgan.
With 26% more protein than Anchor Tasty, Protein+ is an easy way for New Zealand consumers to increase protein in their diets.
These cheese products expand Anchor’s already well-established milk, butter and yoghurt products, which are available in 80 countries around the world.
“When pioneer Henry Reynolds launched Anchor in 1886, he would have never imagined that over a century later more than 150 Anchor products would be sold every minute. This week it’s set to grow even more,” said Morgan.
