Multisorb Technologies has introduced the FreshCard oxygen absorber to preserve the freshness and quality of packaged food and extend product shelf life.
It reduces and maintains the oxygen content within packaging to below 0.1% and protects packaged foods such as baked snacks, breads, biscuits, cakes, nuts, lollies, processed meats and dairy products from spoilage, mould growth and other damage. It also reduces or eliminates the need for additives and preservatives.
The oxygen scavenger prevents the growth of pathogens and organisms by controlling the oxidative chemical reactions that occur within packaging. It can be used by itself or in conjunction with gas flushing or vacuum packaging to absorb virtually all residual oxygen within packaging.
It continually absorbs oxygen that permeates packaging throughout the shelf life of a product minimising the need for BHA, BHT, sulfur dioxide, sorbates, benzoates and other food additives.
