Phase two of draft rules for organic food products in NZ
The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is now seeking feedback in the second phase of developing the Draft National Organic Standard regulations for New Zealand.
The MPI has worked alongside a number of technical experts across the organics sector to develop draft proposals for the National Organic Standard. These draft proposals contain the technical rules that will regulate the production and processing of organic food, beverages, plant and animal products in New Zealand.
The first phase of consultation provided helpful and constructive feedback, with a number of changes made and the addition of a definitions list.
In this second phase of consultation, MPI is seeking feedback on the National Organic Standard regulations and definitions list.
The closing date for submissions is 5 pm on 14 July.
