New year, new strategy for Frutarom
Frutarom has announced a new strategy for the new year to better address customers’ needs in the global nutraceutical and functional food market.
The strategy is based on four foundations:
- innovation
- natural ingredients
- research
- responsible sustainability
“We made significant investments in the last year to improve our plants in Switzerland and North Bergen, NJ, to provide high-quality, sustainable natural ingredients,” said Holger Riemensperger, General Manager of Frutarom Health BU.
“We also sponsored several clinical research trials on specific nutraceuticals, plus our R&D team developed several innovative ingredients intended for worldwide launch this year. We are attentive to our customers’ needs and seek for smart ingredient solutions to address specific health conditions and market trends in functional food and supplements.”
During 2014, the company will publish research results from several clinical studies. The studies involve several Frutarom products:
- Neuravena: patented wild green oat extract, claimed to benefit cognitive health
- Pelargonium: a natural root extract that reportedly boosts immune health
- LinumLife: flax lignan ingredient for men’s health
- Go-Less: a proprietary blend of extracts that may support bladder wellness
Frutarom says it will continue to develop new studies and new products, even as health regulations become more and more rigorous.
“Frutarom intends to launch from five to seven proprietary natural ingredients in 2014, and boost health and sales growth among existing and new customers,” said Riemensperger.
“We also intend to expand the market of our nutraceuticals to pharmaceutical companies and so are in the process of attaining the highest pharmaceutical certifications.”
