Ripe innovations under discussion at National Food Waste Summit
End Food Waste Australia will host one of Australia’s biggest gatherings dedicated to halving food waste by 2030.
Being held from 24–25 July at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the National Food Waste Summit will bring together delegates and exhibitors from across the food industry, government, NGO and research sectors. Summit attendees will include businesses from the whole food supply chain, from farm to industry and retail, as well as researchers, industry specialists and leaders of the future.
On the second day of the summit, 25 July, there will be a panel discussion about Save Food Packaging, moderated by Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) Executive Director Nerida Kelton FAIP.
The panel, including Lukas Parker, Associate Professor – School of Media and Communication, RMIT; Sophie Sumner, Marketing Communications Manager, Sealed Air; and Michael Dossor, General Manger, Result Group, will discuss how to ‘food-waste proof’ your products. It will also discuss innovation design, creative approaches to information sharing, utilisation of new technologies and getting to know your consumers’ behaviours — critical ingredients for cooking up Save Food Packaging to help reduce food waste.
