Puratos acquires historic jam maker
Puratos Australia-New Zealand has expanded its operations with the acquisition of Melbourne Jam Manufacturing — a ninety-year-old company specialising in the production of fruit and patisserie fillings for artisanal and industrial customers.
Puratos has been supplying products to the bakery, patisserie and chocolate sectors in Australia and New Zealand for the past four years. Peter Deriemaeker, markets director for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, said the acquisition would help Puratos to meet the needs of the full range of baked goods businesses, from artisan, semi-industry and industry to supermarket and food service.
The acquisition gives Puratos access to the national distribution network of Melbourne Jam Manufacturing Co, as well as its large-capacity, Melbourne-based production facility and experienced R&D team.
