Project director appointed for food manufacturing hub Turbine
A new project director has been appointed to the Turbine Precinct, a food and beverage manufacturing development that will house research and development, warehousing, logistics and production capabilities. Education, mentoring and training facilities are also due to feature.
Frances Cayley will be taking the role of project director in order to bring the precinct to fruition. She has over 20 years of experience in the property industry, including as the Head of Property at the Sunshine Coast Council.
Located at the Sunshine Coast Airport, the precinct will enable businesses to scale up and expand their markets nationally and internationally. The first stage of the project will focus on beverage manufacturing. Turbine is welcoming start-ups to work within the project and is hoping that global beverage companies will avail themselves of the project’s offerings too.
“Turbine is a project that started on the premise that collaboration is the key to future success and with a vision to create a blueprint for the future of Australian food and beverage manufacturing,” said Turbine Director and Food & Agribusiness Network CEO Emma Greenhatch.
“The Turbine Precinct will be a place where industry, research, government and education and training providers collectively unlock growth and drive innovation, and Turbine’s Board are delighted that Frances will be leading the project.
“Frances’s values parallel those of Turbine and this, coupled with her skills in property and her ability to engage with key stakeholders, made her the ideal person for the role.”
It is expected that the Turbine Precinct will begin operations in late 2023. The project has recently received over $8 million of government funding to boost its development.
