NZ Food Safety seeking consultation on cost recovery proposal
New Zealand Food Safety is seeking consultation on a cost recovery proposal to maintain and expand New Zealand Food Safety’s core regulatory services under the Food Act 2024, which provide education, oversight, rules and monitoring services. It is also seeking views on whether these services should be cost recovered from the industries that benefit from them.
New Zealand Food Safety would like feedback on:
- the proposals to expand some services that are required to support a robust food safety system
- two levies that will be used to fund the proposed services.
The submissions form, which can be found on the consultation page, contains consultation questions; however, these should not be considered a limitation of which parts of the proposal to comment on.
Submissions must be received by 5 pm on 15 March 2024.
