Amcor receives packaging award nods
Amcor has received three awards from the 2022 Flexible Packaging Achievement (FPA) Awards, presented by the Flexible Packaging Association. Held annually since 1956, the awards recognise packaging excellence in factors such as innovation, sustainability, printing and design.
“We are honoured to once again be recognised for innovative achievement by the FPA,” said Brian Carvill, Amcor Flexibles North America Research and Development Vice President.
“These winning packages demonstrate how Amcor applies deep material science capabilities to create exciting opportunities for brands, and a better experience for consumers. This year’s awards reflect the resiliency of our research and development teams.”
The first award was a gold achievement in the ‘Expanding the use of Flexible Packaging’ category for the instant pot meal kit in its AmPrima range, which replaces a multi-part tray, lidding and overwrap system with a single recyclable pouch.
A silver award was doled out in the technical innovation category for Amcor’s clear anti-grease jerky pouch which is able to prevent grease from building up.
Finally, it received a nod in the sustainability category where it received a silver award for its recyclable shrink film that uses 30% recycled content.
In total, 27 packages were honoured at the FPA Achievement Awards out of a total of 100 competitors and 325 entries.
