With a narrow font that reduces code length, smaller drop size and a large array of printing formats, the Linx 6800 Swift offers high-speed, continuous inkjet coding for product identification in confined or awkward places, such as bottle tops and necks or cabling.

Its features include: codes can be as small as 1.4 mm tall; can produce a range of barcodes (including EAN 8, EAN 13, 2 of 5); enclosure rating of IP55 or IP65; 2.93 m/sec print speeds for small two line codes suit fast production lines; short flight path means precise codes. The printer is a variant of Linx's Mark 7 print-head.

The 6800 Swift's mini print-head uses a narrow font that creates small printed characters, reducing the codes' length, while providing good code quality. This means codes of 1.4 mm in height can be produced - suitable for confined spaces such as small pharmaceutical or cosmetics packages and automotive or electronic components. Character height ranges up to 6.7 mm. The ability to print smaller two line codes at speeds up to 2.93 m/s means the machine is suitable for a range of very fast production lines, including those used for bottling, canning and cabling. The short flight path between the print-head and product allows the 6800 to code very precisely - even on small and awkward surfaces.

The mini incorporates a solenoid valve designed to minimise the need for print-head cleaning. A temperature sensor built into the print-head further enhances performance by enabling the printer to adjust to a wide range of temperature variations. The printer has an IP rating of either an IP55 or IP65 enclosure, resulting in good performance in wet and dusty environments. No dirt traps ensure the printer is easy to wash down. It does not need filtered factory air and provides customers with low cost of ownership.
