Harsh environment IP66 process sensors
Rockwell Automation has released a line of Allen-Bradley microprocessor-based sensors. The 'flagships' of the range are the 836E pressure- and 837E temperature-sensors, which produce high-quality performance in varied rugged environments. With advanced pressure- and temperature-sensing technology, the Allen-Bradley 836E and 837E solid-state condition sensors - now with analog output - are designed for long life, high accuracy and repeatability.
Corrosion-resistant 316L stainless steel housing and an IP66 enclosure rating make the sensors suited to harsh chemical washdown areas. In addition, the sensors feature flexible configuration and a comprehensive range of process connections, including NPT and BSPP.
Gauge pressure range options for the 836E extend from vacuum to 6000 psi across six models. The 837E can be programmed for temperature ranges from -50 to 150°C, with available probe lengths of 50, 100 and 200 mm.
Both sensors deliver a 4-20 mA analog output with a single, independently programmable PNP alarm output (NO or NC), or through dual independently programmable PNP alarm outputs (NO or NC).
Set-up time is minimised using optional Windows-based configuration software - a bonus for applications requiring multiple switch points, or for OEMs. The programming software also enables fast troubleshooting and stores multiple switch configurations. Alternatively, the switches can be configured locally with easy-to-use onboard buttons and digital LCD. Both sensors feature rotatable housing for ease of wiring and viewing of the display.
