The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) has announced that the 2009 National Technical Forums program and booking form is now available.

With the theme ‘Packaging MEGA Trends’ and international speakers from the United Kingdom, Italy and the United States, the two-day event, which will be held alongside AUSPACK on Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 June at Sydney Showgrounds, will be a must-attend on the AIP calendar for 2009.

Topics that will be discussed include:

  • Openability and design for the aging population
  • In-store merchandising
  • Sustainable design
  • Terminal shelf velocity
  • Biodegradable shopping bags and water bottles
  • Corrugated packaging
  • Aluminium beverage packaging
  • The strategic direction of private labels
  • Nanotechnology
  • The life cycle management of a brand
  • A panel discussion on Bioplastics with representatives from NatureWorks, Plastral, Plantic, BioPak, Innovia Films and the Australasian Bioplastics Association.
