ALC Annual Forum

Tuesday, 12 December, 2006

Paul Little, managing director, Toll Holdings, will give the opening address at the ALC Annual Forum 2007, the key event for the transport and logistics sector for setting its forthcoming national agenda.

The forum will take place at Seaworld Nara, Qld on 15-16 February 2007.

Paul Little will start the discussion with his presentation on "The Globalisation of Logistics' and the impact of expansion into Asia and increased international competition.

The forum represents the major opportunity for the transport and logistics industry to network with industry leaders and government, participate in discussion and debate about the major issues facing the sector, and set the agenda for managing its objectives.

Infrastructure, human resources, regulations and future directions are the key areas which will be addressed. Logistics users and providers, peak bodies, freight councils, government regulators and academics are all expected to provide input.

"During 2006, the ALC has continued to evolve and deliver on the agenda set at last year's forum. To be effective, it's critical that the industry attend this event to have their say on the issues which will affect us all in the future," said Hal Morris, executive director, Australian Logistics Council.

The keynote breakfast on 16 February will be addressed by Bob Scheuber, chairman of Australasian Railway Association and CEO of QR. He will talk on "Rail's Role in Logistics'.
