SIG Combibloc wins iF Design Award for combidome
The Industrie Forum Design eV (iF) has presented SIG Combibloc with an iF Design Award for its combidome product. The combidome carton pack combines features of a carton pack and a bottle.
“We are very proud that combidome convinced this blue-ribbon jury of experts of the many advantages that our exceptional carton pack combines in one,” said Hanno Bertling, global product manager for combidome at SIG Combibloc, who accepted the award in Munich with Christoph Kenn, senior project manager for combidome at SIG Combibloc.
“The design concept of combidome is outstanding in terms of convenience and differentiation and in logistical respects, too, our award-winning package has all kinds of advantages.
“Compared, for instance, to a standard gable-top carton, with combidome substantial savings can be achieved on the logistics costs. This reduces the total system costs. Our customers benefit from this, but so does the retail market.”
A 49-person jury judged this year’s entries, which numbered 4615 - a significant increase on the 2013 awards. Previous prominent award winners include the Volkswagen Golf, the Hewlett-Packard HP Chromebook 11 and the Apple iPhone 5c.
