Plantic expands agreement with Klöckner Pentaplast to Europe
Plantic Technologies has expanded its exclusive regional distribution agreement with the Klöckner Pentaplast Group for its line of Plantic biopolymer rigid packaging films to include Europe.
Previously focusing on the Americas, Klöckner Pentaplast will market and sell Plantic rigid packaging films throughout the Americas and Europe under its Pentafood Biofilm brand name.
Designed to increase market penetration and enhance service to the marketplace, the expanded agreement will provide users with access to the products that will help meet sustainable packaging goals. Plantic will continue to service the Australasian markets directly and provide rigid trays from its German manufacturing site.
Plantic biopolymer film is a high-amylose corn starch-based product that is renewable, biodegradable, water dispersible, home compostable, and compostable to ASTM D6400 and EN 13432 standards. The films are suitable for food and general-purpose thermoformed packaging applications, such as trays for confectionery, chocolates, cookies, cosmetics, and healthcare products.
“We are excited about expanding our exclusive agreement with Klöckner Pentaplast to include the European market,” states Brendan Morris, Chief Executive Officer of Plantic Technologies Ltd.
