PerfoTec awarded Green Tulip Award

Friday, 30 November, 2012

PerfoTec has been awarded the Green Tulip (Groene Tulp) Award at the Accenture Innovation Awards in the Netherlands. The company was presented the award on 8 November, coming in ahead of more than 1400 other entries.

The company reportedly won the award as it was rated the best in sustainability, innovation, success and potential.

The judging panel was impressed with PerfoTec’s results in a Marks & Spencer trial. PerfoTec conducted a pilot with fresh grapes and extended the shelf life from five to seven days. The longer shelf life reduced in-store waste by 50%, creating financial savings in the process. The improved product quality also reportedly resulted in a significant sales growth.

PerfoTec was also awarded the Blue Tulip (Blauwe Tulp) Award in the category Making More out of Less in consumer goods and services.
