National Starch announces new identity
National Starch and Corn Products has a new identity. The group of companies, one of the world’s leading ingredient solutions providers, will now be known as Ingredion.
“Our new brand, Ingredion, encompasses the diversity and growth of our product offerings. It also honours the longstanding values that have contributed to our success while being more representative of the stronger, global company we have become,” said Jeff Laurent, Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific.
With more than 10,000 employees around the world, the Ingredion group of companies serves customers in more than 60 diverse markets across at least 40 countries. National Starch has been a trusted ingredient partner for Australian food companies for more than 30 years.
Ingredion has ‘clean label’ starches that are suitable for ready meals, gravies, soups, sauces, fruit preparations, yoghurts, dairy desserts and baby foods, as well as a variety of chilled and frozen foods.
“Australians are increasingly looking for foods with fewer, simple ingredients across the supermarket,” said Melanie Spaggiari, Business Director - Ingredient Solutions, Australasia.
“But when you’re going clean label, cooking processes and temperatures may need tweaking. Some clean label ingredients also impact the behaviour of other recipe ingredients, so it’s important to work with an ingredient company which understands how clean label ingredients behave and interact.
“Our Novation range of starches, made from corn, tapioca and potato, boast a clean, neutral flavour profile and are identified simply as ‘corn, tapioca or rice starch’ on ingredient labels. We work closely with our customers leveraging our unique consumer insight and product development expertise in the clean label area to ensure the desired result is achieved,” said Spaggiari.
