Keynote speaker announced
Organisers of the 12th annual Queensland Supply Chain and Logistics Conference have announced that Graeme Newton, Chief Executive Officer for the Queensland Reconstruction Authority, will be the keynote speaker for the 2011 event to be held on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 September at the Sofitel Hotel, Brisbane.
2011 has seen Queensland undergo the largest series of consecutive natural disasters in the state’s history. In times like these it is critical to understand how to manage your business in a crisis. Newton’s presentation will discuss what was effective, what did not work, the challenges faced and the lessons learnt from the Queensland Floods and Cyclone Yasi.
With tertiary qualifications as a surveyor and Masters level qualifications in business and project management, Graeme has an in-depth understanding of urban and regional planning, commercial business drivers and major project delivery. He has led the approval and delivery processes for several major Queensland projects across the infrastructure areas of water, energy and transport and has delivered pipelines, telecommunications and transmission line projects.
With over 300 delegates anticipated to attend, and a theme of ‘Solving the Supply Chain Puzzle’, the conference is suitable for supply chain, logistics, transport and procurement professionals and practitioners. An educational event, the conference is designed for both professional and personal development in a relaxed environment.
2011 partners already confirmed include: Haymans Electrical Data Supplies, OfficeMax, apics, Corporate Express, Konica Minolta, ProcureNet, SSI Schaefer, SDS, CNW Electrical & Data Supplies, Cyberscience Corporation, Dematic, Fuji Xerox, Mission Australia, Project Procure, Scale Components, Strategix Training Group, SupplyChain Review, TOLL Group, Yusen Logistics, Mincom, Open Windows, Quadrem and Secure Edge Technologies.
