Former Coca-Cola South Pacific boss appointed president of Campell Arnott Asia Pacific
Campbell Arnott’s has appointed Gareth Edgecombe to the role of President of the Asia Pacific sector.
Edgecombe will be based at Campbell Arnott’s regional headquarters in Sydney and will report to Mark Alexander, President Campbell International.
Edgecombe has nearly 20 years’ experience in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector. Prior to joining Campbell Arnott’s, he was President of The Coca-Cola Company’s South Pacific Business Unit.
In his new role, Edgecombe will be responsible for the Australian, Asian and Pacific operations of Arnott’s Biscuits and Campbell’s Soup, which have a combined annual turnover of more than AU$1.5 billion.
According to Mark Alexander, Edgecombe was an excellent choice for the role given his knowledge of the Asia Pacific region and his expertise in building profitable, iconic consumer brands.
“Gareth is a highly experienced executive with a strong background in marketing, sales and general management. His track record of building sales and equity across a range of iconic brands will add tremendous value as we continue to focus on our three key areas for global growth: baked snacks, simple meals and healthy beverages,” said Alexander.
Edgecombe commenced his career with Coca-Cola Amatil (NZ) Ltd in 1992 before joining New Zealand Dairy Foods Limited, where he held a number of increasingly senior sales and general management roles including General Manager Puhoi Valley Cheese Company. In 2003, he moved to The Coca-Cola Company and was appointed President of its South Pacific Business Unit three years later.
