Foodtech Packtech 2006

Wednesday, 12 July, 2006

Foodtech Packtech 2006 is widely regarded as the most important trade event for New Zealand's food technology and packaging technology industries.

This year's show, scheduled 17-19 October, will completely fill five halls at the renovated ASB Showgrounds venue. In addition, the foyer between Halls 4 and 5 will contain displays from eight industry organisations: Packaging Council of NZ, Plastics NZ, Food & Grocery Council, Steel Can Association, NZ Paperboard Packaging Association, Glass Packaging Forum, Environmental Beverage Action Group, and NZ Retailers Association.

Foodtech Packtech is the perfect occasion for industry representatives to meet with suppliers from the processing and packaging sectors and companies providing service to the food industry. The event provides a venue for learning and seeking out opportunities to add value to products and improve process efficiencies.

First-time exhibitor Henley Industries will be displaying eight types of conveyor including new models.

The latest in self-adhesive labels and shrink sleeve labelling will be shown by Jenkins Labels.

A new-generation laser coding machine from Videojet Alltec will be demonstrated by Tronics. With the largest print area of any laser coder on the market, this model 3320 has multi-laning capacity and can code onto any substrate.

The latest FAM cheese shredder which handles fresh soft cheeses will be shown by KSL. Achieving higher speed and volume throughout, the shredder is already working successfully in New Zealand.

The New Zealand Institute of Packaging will present its Innovation Awards at Foodtech Packtech. Designed to recognise and reward new ideas and new thinking in the NZ packaging industry, the awards will be made in three categories: Packaging Components or Complete Product Package, Packaging Process or Material, and Packaging Machinery. All entries will be on display.

Visitor pre-registration for Foodtech Packtech 2006 is now available online at www.foodtechpacktech.co.nz
