Dietary fibre claims criteria open for comment
Got an opinion on dietary fibre nutrition content claims? Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has released a consultation paper about the qualifying criteria nutrition content claims relating to dietary fibre.
“FSANZ committed to considering this issue further during the three-year transition period for the new [Nutrition and Health Claims] Standard,” said FSANZ CEO Steve McCutcheon.
FSANZ is calling for stakeholders to submit their views and evidence relating to the qualifying criteria for dietary fibre nutrition content claims. Government agencies, public health professionals, industry and the community are encouraged to comment.
The closing date for submissions is 29 August 2013. More information about how to make a submission is available here.
