It doesn’t matter if you are a one-man band or part of a huge multinational conglomerate - every food processor and manufacturer needs equipment, ingredients and resources. If you want to find out what’s hot in equipment and supplies for the food industry, visit foodpro 2011.
Over four days in July, nearly 250 suppliers to the food industry in Australia and New Zealand will have their wares on display and their technical specialists available to discuss the latest innovations and trends in the food industry. If you are a food processor or manufacturer, entry to the exhibition is absolutely free; but bring your walking shoes as there are a huge number of exhibits to cover.
The complete list of exhibitors and the floor plan of foodpro 2011 can be seen on pages 44 and 45.

What is on at foodpro 2011
Australian meat and industry fair
The heart of foodpro since the 1960s when it was known as the Australian International Meat Trades Fair, the Meat and Industry Fair includes processing, slaughtering, packaging and Cryovac equipment. 60% of food consumed in Australia contains meat or meat products, so this is a market to get your teeth into!
Beverage equipment and technology
The ever-growing range of new products, brands and brand-extensions in milk bar fridges and supermarket shelves and chillers indicates the willingness of consumers to try new tastes and explore new categories. This creates opportunities right along the production chain - ingredients and additives, containers, processing and bottling, capping and sealing, labelling and more.
Food handling, storage and transport
Moving raw ingredients into the plant, conveying product around the plant and shipping finished product out all require a range of weighing, conveying, materials handling equipment and warehousing. This often neglected part of any food processing operation needs to be hygienic, safe and efficient - see how you can update and automate all or part of your food handling, storage and transport at foodpro.
Food ingredients and additives
The most obvious things at foodpro - apart from the sheer size and the diversity of exhibitors - are large pieces of machinery; however, some of the most useful to food processing visitors are among the smallest. Food ingredients and additives are an essential part of most food processes and have the potential to increase efficiency and profitability by doing everything from improving taste to extending shelf life. Whether you’re looking at changing existing products or creating new ones, you’ll find the food ingredients and additives you need at the exhibition.
Food packaging machinery and supplies
To a consumer, food packaging is part of the sizzle - part of their overall perception and experience of a brand and its associated product. To a food processor or manufacturer, packaging is much more. It’s a functional vehicle that must deliver optimum performance from the production line, through the supply chain to kitchen or pantry. Good packaging can help drive sales, lower manufacturing and handling costs and improve shelf life - and you’ll find all you need to optimise your packaging at foodpro 2011.
Food processing machinery and technology
An essential part of virtually every food manufacturing process, machinery and equipment can often be taken for granted, maintained in good working order and not given another thought. However, upgrading to new technology and equipment could deliver significant benefits and offer new product and variant opportunities. Whether you’re looking at new production or increasing the efficiency and flexibility of an existing plant, you’ll find the answers at foodpro 2011. Our exhibitors have the knowledge and resources to assess your food processing requirements and provide you with a range of options - and their benefits.
Food technology
Food science and technology plays an increasingly important role in food manufacturing and processing - from physical and chemical testing of ingredients and products to process temperature monitoring and recording, from X-ray equipment to water and waste processing. The most appropriate use of food technology can lower costs and improve productivity.
Food testing and safety
In a world where risk management is becoming increasingly important, food testing and safety is a vital part of every food manufacturing and processing operation. From on-site analysis and testing to outsourced services, efficient and effective processes can reduce risk, lower costs and maximise productivity.
Plant equipment and technology
An area of little thought to outsiders, the importance of the appropriate application of plant equipment and technology is evident to every successful food processor and manufacturer. At one end of the range, it can lower the costs and complexity of regulatory compliance, reduce maintenance and overheads, and increase staff morale. At the other, it can deliver improvements, ranging from processing efficiency and reduced energy use to decreasing waste and more cost-effective product prototyping.
