Recycled content for food packaging: resource available
The Australian Packaging Covenant (APC) has developed a resource on the inclusion of recycled content in food packaging items. Developed in consultation with industry, Recycled Materials in Food Contact Applications details the challenges, opportunities and legislation relevant to including recycled content in food packaging.
The resource discusses legislative requirements, including the legal standing of several food standards that are often considered binding. The APC recommends that food and beverage brands review the resource, whether or not they plan to make changes to their packaging.
