FSC and PEFC certification for UPM Raflatac's Chinese sites
UPM Raflatac’s label stock slitting and distribution operations in Guangzhou and Tianjin terminals have both achieved FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) Chain of Custody (CoC) certifications. This means that all of the company’s Chinese sites are now CoC certified to the main global forest certification standards.
UPM Raflatac says that despite labels being just a small part of packaging, sustainable origin and traceability for all packaging materials has grown in importance across the globe.
The CoC certification means that label converters and brand owners can rest assured that UPM Raflatac label materials bearing the FSC or PEFC logos contain wood fibre from sustainable and legally managed forests.
“This is an important step in our efforts to supply products that are sustainable over their life cycle, and to expand our range of CoC-labelled products. It demonstrates our strong commitment to meeting the Asian markets’ growing expectation that we deliver sustainable products. We are now selling around 700 certified products globally,” said Robert Taylor, director, stakeholder relations, UPM Raflatac.
