Enhancing performance in a water bottling factory
The Zulal water factory in Sharjah has used Sidel machinery for increasing its water bottling productivity. The bottling company reached out to Sidel to assist it in meeting the increased demand for its water, which comes from groundwater wells in the region.
After a lengthy period of discussion, the Super Combi Compact water line was adopted, allowing for up to 45,000 bottles per hour to be produced. This line’s introduction meant that the productivity of the bottling plant increased by 280%. The plant saw other benefits too, with energy savings of around 56% from using the new machinery.
The layout of the line had to be accommodated to the size of the existing location, but through careful design the line, its conveyers and two packers were all successfully integrated into the space.
The new machinery also saw the adoption of new bottling technology that reduced the weight and amount of plastic that the 330 mL and 500 mL bottles use, thus making for a more sustainable and efficient operation.
“After installing Sidel’s complete water line, we now have the capacity to supply our products to major airlines, hotels, schools and offices. We are really pleased with the enhanced performance,” said Ali Ahmed Ali Al Kindi, Manager of Zulal Department at Sharjah Electricity and Gas Authority, the organisation that owns Zulal.
