Nutrico releases 'free-from' infant formula
Nutrico has released a formula made from Australian powdered milk that does not include artificial sweeteners, colours or flavourings.
Nutrico Optimum includes essential nutrients in its Stage 1, 2 and 3 formulas, including the prebiotics FOS and GOS, DHA (Omega 3), Taurine, Choline, Beta-Carotene and L-Carnitine.
The formula is produced from milk farmed in the western district of Victoria through Nutrico’s production partner Camperdown Dairy International (CDI) and will be distributed by Grocery Industries Australia.
Craig Ford, managing director of Nutrico, said the impetus for developing a new infant formula was when he and his partner could not find a branded formula for their daughter that satisfied their requirements.
Every tin of the formula has a unique QR code on its base that can be scanned with a smartphone to provide an instant authenticity check. The tamper-proof packaging includes a scoop that is tucked inside the lid, which helps to prevent contamination from unwashed hands.
