Grass-fed baby formula — for the baby with everything

I understand the marketing behind wagyu and Cape Grim beef but promoting baby formula as better than organic because the diet of the cows supplying the base can be certified as ‘Grass fed’ has surprised me.

Apparently cows’ preferred diets are grass and shrub based and do not include grains. If the cows eat only grass and shrubs they produce superior milk, and which mother wouldn’t want what is best for her baby?

New Zealand’s Synlait Milk and Munchkin are currently in discussions with the FDA to register their grass-fed formula for sale in the US.

Now you can certify that the cows were ‘grass fed’ but this does not mean it meets the requirements to be ‘organic’.

I think you really need baby formula that is certified for both if you are going to take this seriously.
