Foodbank and Simplot partnership for disadvantaged Australians

Foodbank and Simplot Australia have partnered to provide 4 million meals to people in need. The six-year collaborative supply program to produce essential foods has seen the teamwork of several partners contribute to the success of the program.

With Simplot donating its manufacturing facilities, Kagome providing tomatoes and Amcor offering the packaging, Foodbank can supply a reliable amount of pasta sauce to Australians facing hardship.

With 43,000 people still being turned away by charities due to lack of food, Foodbank Australia’s CEO, Brianna Casey, said, “It is valuable to be able to help vulnerable families gain access to good quality food they would otherwise not be able to afford.”

Graham Dugdale, managing director of Simplot, added, “We are proud to be part of the program that makes a difference to the people who need it most.”

Robin Harwood, manager of Moira FoodShare, a Victorian charity providing 200,000 meals to people in Northern Victoria and Southern NSW, continued, “The program plays a vital role in making sure disadvantaged locals have access to essential food items.”
