While packing fresh produce into trays is not new, Proseal says that in recent years demand has shifted to top-sealed trays rather than the more traditional over-wrap film solution that was used in the past.
Proseal’s range of tray-sealing equipment offers food producers a choice of solutions to meet differing requirements - from a hand-operated, portable machine for small-scale usage to its latest fully automatic model designed for high-speed production lines and capable of up to 180 packs/min.
A range of options is available to meet the particular requirements of each application. Twin-lane systems help to maximise throughput, for example, while machines can also be specified with a ‘free flow’ gas flush to provide extended product shelf life. One of the advantages of the Proseal gas flushing system is that it does not need to pull a vacuum before flushing and, by removing one of the component parts of the sealing cycle, higher speeds can be achieved. Proseal machinery can also be fitted with vac gas flush when pulling vacuum is absolutely necessary to a particular application.
