Four attributes food processers look for in equipment
The food processing and packaging industry is constantly evolving to accommodate the wants and needs of consumers, and decision-makers within the sector are looking for equipment that meets these demands.
Process and product technologists showcased their latest engineering and manufacturing solutions for the food industry at the recent APPEX tradeshow in Melbourne. Many exhibitors highlighted efficiency, resource management and sustainability.
Heat and Control Sales and Marketing Manager Greg Pyne noticed visitors were looking for solutions and equipment that can achieve four distinct roles.
Pyne noted high interest in solutions that can:
- produce consistently high-quality food products,
- boost production rates,
- ensure high energy efficiency during prolonged operational uptime,
- easily be sanitised.
At the event, Heat and Control showcased its range of processing and packaging equipment from brands including the Key COMPASS Sorter, Ishida X-ray machine, Snack Bagmaker, Checkweigher and CEIA Metal Detector.
Pyne noted a diverse array of visitors exploring equipment and process solutions for different applications such as prepared foods, snack foods and fresh produce.
Processors of fresh produce, fruits, vegetables and nuts were interested in exploring the range of precision slicing and dicing equipment on display from food cutting technology specialist Urschel.
“APPEX provided an excellent opportunity to meet with customers from both the processing and packaging industries and connect with new prospects from both sectors,” Pyne said.
