Aussie cocktails launched in aseptic cartons from Tetra Pak

Australian beverage brand Mandatory Spirit Co. and global food and beverage packaging company Tetra Pak venture into a new product category, filling cocktails into aseptic carton packages produced locally in Victoria.

The sugar-free, gluten-free and vegan cocktail range is packaged in 1 L Tetra Pak aseptic carton packages that allow the drinks to stay fresh without the need for preservatives and offer a long shelf life (up to 18 months unrefrigerated). The carton package is also durable for shipping and transport.

Mandatory Spirit Co. Co-Founder Mark Collins commented: “We are excited to announce the launch of our new spirits in a 1 L aseptic Tetra Pak carton. By creating these products in a carton, Aussies can have a bit of fun drinking their favourite cocktails, while purchasing and disposing of the packaging in a far more sustainable way.”

Jaymie Pagdato, Marketing Director of Tetra Pak, said: “Tetra Pak is always looking for like-minded brands with shared goals and visions when it comes to bringing exciting product innovations into the market, as well as advancing the circular economy in Australia. We are thrilled to partner with a local brand like Mandatory Spirit Co. in bringing a new product into Australia’s beverage industry with our innovative and sustainable packaging.”

1 L cartons have up to five times less impact on climate change than glass, and more than two times traditional PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottled beverages across its entire lifecycle in Australia and New Zealand1.

Where available, consumers can recycle the used cartons at kerbside collection points, where they can be transported to a saveBOARD recycling facility and turned into sustainable building materials for homes and offices.
