VFFS packaging machine for WA bakery
A vertical form fill seal (VFFS) packaging machine was recently commissioned for Noonans Bakery in the Perth suburb of Canning Vale. Accuweigh’s VFFS machine is being used for packaging soup mixes and croutons and is proving to be considerably faster than the previous packaging equipment installed at the factory.
Accuweigh’s Perth branch supplied and installed the AW-VX600 machine and included a universal former plus a range of optional parts to suit the client’s specific packaging needs. The AW-VX VFFS packaging machines are designed for high throughput of up to 100 bags per minute and are suitable to use in automatic packaging of solid products such as powders, puffy foods, shrimp roll, peanuts, popcorn, cornmeal, seeds, sugars and salt.
The bakery invested in the machine to increase product output, which was previously being hampered by ongoing problems with product rejects, and the inaccurate weighings of its packaging equipment, which caused excessive product re-packing. The new packaging machine is almost three times quicker than the previous equipment.
Soon after commissioning the machine, Noonans Bakery cleared its backlog of production and is now able to match product output to an increasing demand for its products.
To ensure it could take full advantage of the speed of the machine, the bakery also purchased an AccuPak AW-M14A multihead weigher, a bucket elevator, working platform, takeaway conveyor and rotary collecting table, which were all installed at the same time with minimal downtime to production.
