Sunny Queen appoints new development chef
Sunny Queen Australia has announced the new business role of development chef, which aims to help the company better understand the challenges faced by the hospitality sector and work closer with its customers.
Sunny Queen supplies fresh farm eggs and its Meal Solutions division produces a range of egg products that make it easier for commercial kitchens to deliver tasty and cost-effective egg dishes.
With over 13 years of experience creating food solutions for international food manufacturers and restaurants — and her own cafe — Katrina Neill has been appointed as the new development chef.
She plans to draw on her global knowledge of culinary trends and her experience in industry kitchens, where she has developed new foods for market, including chocolate products, cupcakes, sandwiches and wraps.
“My previous hospitality experience as a qualified chef involves working directly with airlines, retailers and catering companies, and I’m very excited to transfer this knowledge and cross-sector expertise to assist other industry professionals,” Neill said.
Her role will involve working with in-house chefs to develop food solutions that will save on labour, time and wastage. She will also work alongside Sunny Queen Australia’s food R&D technologists to enable hospitality professionals to deliver innovative and nutritious products.
“Ms Neill will work with our nutrition and food experts to ensure chefs are meeting customer requirements by providing pioneering products that are delicious, made with quality ingredients and highlight new and exciting flavours,” said Managing Director of Sunny Queen Australia John O’Hara.
“Her extensive experience as chef is the perfect on-the-ground addition to our team and shows our strong commitment at Sunny Queen to stay ahead of popular food trends across Australia and overseas.”
