Learn the practicalities of vegetable exporting
Australian vegetable growers will be provided with a practical overview of the export process at a symposium to be held on the Gold Coast.
The Practicalities for Exporting Vegetables Symposium will feature expert speakers from across the export supply chain, representatives from Austrade and the Australian Government, and vegetable growers sharing their experiences of the export process.
“Many growers are expressing a desire to commence exporting or build on their current export capabilities, as there is an increasing demand in neighbouring countries for high-quality, fresh Australian produce,” said AUSVEG National Manager – Export Development Michael Coote.
“This practical seminar has been developed to assist Australian vegetable growers in supplying fresh produce to international markets, as the exporting process can be intimidating for those who have never exported before.”
Coote said Australian vegetable exports grew by 5.5% over the last financial year to the value of $270 million. He said that events such as this are crucial to developing vegetable export markets and ensuring the long-term viability and future success of the industry.
The symposium will be held at RACV Royal Pines resort on the Gold Coast on Sunday 26 June 2016.
