International competition for food technology students
University students in food science and technology and food related studies are invited to participate in a competition designed to improve practical knowledge and abilities in solving real processing and food industry-related problems.
The FoodFactory-4-Us competition will feature teams of students from all over the world competing to find the best solutions for one specific process and/or food industry-related problem.
Organised by the Erasmus+ European Food-STA project, the competition will focus on the identification, design and development of solutions and ideas relevant to the food industry, with specific action on improvement and innovation of food processing as well as quality and safety of foods.
Example topics include: safety and quality improvement; product/process (including packaging) optimisation and innovation; stability/shelf life; logistics and distribution; and sustainability.
The competition is aimed at Masters and PhD students in food science and technology or any other food-related study program, plus an academic teacher/lecturer who would be involved as tutor.
In addition to a €200 prize for the winning team, the team’s members will receive a one-year membership of IFA, one book from the Springer ISEKI-Food book series and free entry at the 5th international ISEKI-Food conference in Stuttgart, Germany in 2018.
