Improving supply chains for Qld horticulture producers
CQUniversity is leading a survey investigating Queensland horticulture producers’ interest in achieving high product returns by supporting improved supply chains. Researchers are undertaking the survey in association with Growcom, Tropical Pines and Passionfruit Australia.
Dr Delwar Akbar, the project leader, and his team aims to identify the need for a collaborative approach to better market Queensland’s horticulture products.
The findings from the survey will provide the horticulture industry with information about the trade-offs that producers perceive between higher product value and improved supply chain management. The results will benefit the industry through recommendations about improving supply chain management through an enabling environment; for example, price setting, agreement length and additional support.
Funded by the Cooperative Research Centre for Developing Northern Australia (CRCNA), the research will be completed in March 2020 and published as a summary report, to ensure no participants are identified.
